I must admit, I missed the past Runrio Trilogy Races because of the registration fees. Just the thought of what I could buy with 700 bucks keeps me away from registration centers.
For the Rexona Run, however, I decided to make an exception for two reasons.
First, there is the Camsur Marathon a month and a half [...]

Obviously, this is not me being a happy camper. But I assure you that this is way less caustic than the one I originally composed while running the race(yes, I do compose race reports while running).
Dear Mr. Organizer-of-Philippine-Independence-Day-Half-Marathon,
First, I would like to congratulate you for coming up with the idea of a race on Independence [...]

Like the Condura Run, I also joined this race’s edition last year. Most people would probably remember Run for Home as the race which popularized chiptiming locally. As expected, this year’s edition was a bit more expensive than the last - and unlike last year, they no longer had a discount for Globe subscribers. They [...]

One of the few TV shows that I currently follow is the Biggest Loser Asia(Tuesdays, 9pm, Hallmark Channel). It certainly is different from the usual reality shows like PBB or Amazing Race where the contestants are all artistahin and most would probably get showbiz careers after the contest. It is certainly worlds away from the [...]

The Condura 2009 was my first half marathon race ever. I got my first medal there, and it was while training for that event that I got introduced to shinsplints. It was, at that time, also a pretty expensive race, the first one that I had to shell out 500 bucks for. So yeah, it [...]

I came into this race both excited and apprehensive.
I was excited because it had been three weeks since I last joined a race, the last one being the PIM. While I certainly did not miss waking up at 3:30am every Sunday morning, I did miss the race day atmosphere, and the race day people very [...]

Fate threw a monkey wrench in my half marathon season plan.
Okay, blaming fate would be outright irresponsible, so make that - I bungled my half marathon plan.
I missed out on the New Balance Power Race registration. I went to the Planet Sports branch in Trinoma last week, and I didn’t make it.
That means I’d only [...]

The Four Way Test
I love going to Fairview. As anybody who lives in Fairview knows, one of the first things that’d greet you upon entering the area from Commonwealth Avenue is this huge slab of rock with the Rotary Club’s Four Way Test. Since the RotaRun is a Rotary Club event, let’s see how it [...]

I had always been “lucky” with race weather: it used to be that no matter how hard it was raining the night before, the skies would clear up right before my race starts. That was definitely not the case this morning. This race is without doubt the wettest and rainiest race I had ever joined [...]

Once in a hundred years
I must admit, the Baguio Centennial Run was hardly last weekend’s most economical racing option. Nevertheless, I always wanted to race in Baguio, and I realized, if I am to race in Baguio just once, I might as well run in an event that is really unique. And when it comes [...]
