Hi Wilson
The Fresh Air Fund is looking for runners and sponsors to join our Fresh Air Fund-Racers team for the NYC Half-Marathon on August 16th. I thought you would be interested in helping out by posting a mention of this exciting news on Just Another Head Fake. This is a great way to participate in NYC’s premier summer road race while helping Fresh Air Fund children. Please feel free to repost anything from our site here:

Thank you so much,

At first I thought it was spam, but then I realized it isn’t. I did some research and found out that there is indeed a Fresh Air Fund, and they do have a Fresh Air Fund-Racers Team. What I’m wondering about now is how they got hold of my email, and even found out about this blog in the first place. I am registered in Runners World, but this blog is not. The only running blog database that includes this is the one in Takbo.ph - so maybe Sir Jinoe sold us out(haha).
So anyway, if any you are in New York on August 16, and would like to run in the New York City Half-Marathon, do consider joining the Fresh Air Fund-Racers Team. Or if you have relatives in the area who also happen to be runners, you could tell them about this. I myself have relatives in New Jersey, but I don’t think that they run.
Advertising their team like this is just about the best I can do, unfortunately. I would love to help them out by joining the team, running the race(I especially like this one) and raising funds for the kids, BUT, unfortunately, this is a Filipino running website and I am in Manila. Before I get there to raise funds for those kids, somebody would have to raise funds for me first. And yes, convince the U.S. Embassy to grant visa to an unemployed almost-graduate(with very little money in his bank account) just so he could run in the NYC Half-Marathon.
There. Just doing my share in making the world a better place.
